The University of Ibadan Alumni Association (UIAA) Worldwide has announced that it will honor the executive Vice Chairman of the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC), Mr. Tunji Bello, and Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji Bello with distinguished awards.
The ceremony will hold today in Abuja.
According to a statement, Professor Olatunji-Bello, a lawyer, and Vice Chancellor of the Lagos State University (LASU), was nominated for the highly coveted “Worthy Ambassador” Award in recognition of her outstanding leadership, exceptional service, and significant contributions to academic excellence and institutional growth under her leadership.
This award celebrates alumni who exemplify purposeful leadership and have made impactful contributions to both national development and higher education in Nigeria.
Her husband will be honored with the “Meritorious Service” Award, acknowledging his exemplary leadership as a newspaper editor, philanthropy, and dedication to public service.
His impactful roles, being Commissioner with the Lagos State government at various times, Secretary to the Lagos State Government, and his current role with the Federal Government highlight his unwavering commitment to public accountability, institutional strengthening, and governance transparency.
The ceremony will be led by the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, with special honorees such as Vice President Kashim Shettima and the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, among other distinguished leaders.
