Russian drone attacks have thrown large parts of Ukraine into darkness, disrupting daily life and putting enormous strain on critical infrastructure. Massive areas of the Zaporizhzhia and Dnipropetrovsk regions were left without power, forcing communities to deal with sudden and widespread blackouts.
Hospitals were among the hardest hit, with many facilities switching on emergency generators to keep lifesaving equipment running. Beyond healthcare, power outages also impacted water and heating systems, leaving more than a million people with limited access to basic services while repair crews raced to restore supply.
The strikes have not only affected energy facilities. Residential neighbourhoods and government buildings have also been targeted, resulting in damaged homes and increasing fear among civilians who are already under constant threat. 
The repeated Russian attacks have made life uncertain and exhausting for many Ukrainians. Basic necessities such as food, water, and medical care are difficult to obtain, particularly in areas without power.
The ongoing drone campaign has taken a heavy toll on Ukraine’s infrastructure and civilian life, exacerbating humanitarian concerns and highlighting the conflict’s far-reaching consequences beyond the front lines.
