Nigerian media personality and Nollywood actress Toke Makinwa has debunked the false claim that has been moving around amidst social media and her fans.
The media personality made it clear that the father of her newly born girls isn't a Muslim and clarified the fact that her daughter's name, Yakira Eliana, is a Hebrew name and not an Arabic name.
The Gazette Nigeria earlier reported that the token Makinwa welcomed her first child in the early month of August 2025 but has kept the identity of the child's father a mystery for people to solve. The name of her baby quickly sent wrong information and misconceptions on social media, making it a focal point of discussion among her fans with the question of who the baby's daddy is.
In a response, Toke corrected a fan on TikTok about the misconception and explained the true meaning of the name of her baby.
The user commented, “I think Yakira's dad is a Muslim.”
Toke replied and corrected the fan's assumption.
“He is not. Yakira is a Hebrew name. Beloved, precious and someone of great worth.” she said.
The explanation of her baby's name made a new headline and sparked new conversation, with most of her fans appreciating the beautiful and spiritual connection to the baby's name.
Beyond social media chatter, Toke recently opened up about her deeper emotional journey to motherhood. The actress shared that becoming a parent has healed her from the trauma she faced since childhood.
