Masoud Pezeshkian, the newly elected President of Iran, has committed to prioritizing relations with neighboring countries. In his article “My Message to the New World,” published in the Tehran Times, Pezeshkian outlined his vision for a collaborative regional future.

President Pezeshkian advocates for a “strong region” where no single country seeks dominance. He stressed the importance of neighboring states focusing their resources on development rather than competition and arms races.

“We look forward to working with Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Iraq, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, the UAE,” Pezeshkian wrote.

He emphasized the need for cooperation to address common challenges and to foster a permanent ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.

President Masoud also addressed the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, expressing Iran’s desire for peace between the two nations.

“China and Russia have supported us in difficult times, and we deeply value this friendship,” he stated.

Highlighting international alliances, the newly elected President acknowledged the support from China and Russia during difficult times.

“Russia is a valued strategic ally and neighbor of Iran, and my administration will continue to expand and strengthen our cooperation,” he affirmed.

The President recognized the region’s long-standing issues, including wars, sectarian conflicts, terrorism, extremism, drug trafficking, water shortages, refugee crises, environmental degradation, and foreign interference.

“The time has come to solve these common problems for the benefit of future generations,” he emphasized, stating that cooperation will be the guiding principle of Iran’s foreign policy.
