BBNaija’s Boma Akpore revealed on the WithChude podcast that his wedding plans were cancelled after his partner’s family rejected him due to his public persona. He was planning to buy the engagement ring last August before the relationship collapsed.

A former Big Brother Naija housemate has opened up about a personal setback, revealing that his previous relationship was at the stage of marriage but was brought to an end when the family of his partner disapproved of it.

In a candid interview on the withchude“>WithChude podcast with Chude Jideonwo, Boma stated that the family rejected him, citing concerns about his public persona and the scrutiny that comes with his fame.

Bome revealed he had plans to marry his serious partner, but things twisted along the line as his concrete plans were suddenly thwarted by the family’s intervention.

Boma stated he was supposed to be engaging his partner last August. He was even planning a trip to the US specifically to buy the engagement ring. describing the relationship as perfect and amazing despite the ups and downs they face.

The relationship quickly collapsed after the family got involved. Boma recounted their response: “This guy? Hell no, impossible.”

Boma described the whole experience as “very discouraging,” realizing that his celebrity status was the central issue.

Boma said, “I met someone that I really liked, and I was going to marry. I was supposed to be engaging her like last August. I was going to go to America, get the ring, and bring it back because I liked her, and I told her I was going to marry her.

“It was an amazing relationship; we had a little bit of ups and downs, but it was perfect. I thought we had a perfect relationship till the family got involved and said, ‘This guy? Hell no, impossible.’

“So that collapsed everything, and that was very discouraging. If I were not in the entertainment or public eye, nobody would know some things about me. Once you come to the public, that is the prize you have to pay.”
