Ododo’s 2026 Budget Boost for Shared Prosperity

The governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Usman Ododo, has presented a budget draft of N820,490,584 443 for the 2026 fiscal year. Tagged  Budget of Shared Prosperity: Driving Sustainable Growth For All, the presentation was made today. Tuesday, 2 December, on the floor of the state House of Assembly for approval by the lawmakers.The budget estimate is made up of N367,448,083,683 recurrent expenditure and N453,042,501,760 capital expenditure, representing an increase of N215,961,592,725, which amounts to 35.7% of the 2025 budget of N604,528,992,718.The governor noted that the 2026 budget was designed to achieve enhanced revenue mobilization , enforce expenditure discipline, and deepen strategic investment in growth sectors.Other objectives of the budget, according to the governor, include the aggressive repayment of federal government debts,...
