Nollywood fashion icon Mercy Aigbe lived up to her reputation as the “Queen of the Red Carpet” during the star-studded premiere of Niyi Akinmolayan’s latest epic, Colours of Fire, in Lagos this December.
Channeling her character, Efunsetan, Aigbe arrived in a breathtaking ensemble that perfectly mirrored the film’s title and mystical themes.
The outfit was a masterclass; the red gown featured a sweeping train and intricate gold and red embroidery designed to mimic flickering flames with a structured corset bodice with a sweetheart neckline and massive, oversized feathered wings in layers of crimson, orange, and yellow that rose from her back, creating a literal “phoenix” effect.
She complemented the look with ruby-toned statement jewelry, long dark curls, and a classic nude glossy lip.
