The Igala community in Adamawa State has recognized Architect Dogara Hamidu Durkwa with a prestigious chieftaincy title, celebrating his consistent support and goodwill toward the people.
The honor was conferred by the Igala Cultural & Development Association (ICDA), Yola Chapter, during a colorful ceremony attended by community elders, cultural leaders, and excited residents.
The association bestowed on him the respected title “Eyo Ejú Omachi Attah Igala,” which translates to “The Eye of the Igala People.”
The recognition is traditionally reserved for individuals who contribute significantly to the growth and well-being of the Igala community.
The certificate presented to Architect Durkwa on 29th November 2025 highlighted the reasons behind the honor.
It read:
“In recognition of your outstanding support and love towards the development and progress of Igala people in Adamawa State.”
The ICDA leadership explained that this statement captures years of dedication and visible contributions made by him.
Community members described Architect Durkwa as a dependable friend of the Igala people. They said he has consistently supported cultural events, welfare activities, and youth programs without seeking attention or reward. His humility, they added, made the title even more fitting.
