Nigerian afrobeat star Davido has stunned his fans and music lovers around the world at the 68th Annual Grammy Awards last night, Sunday, 1 February 2026, delivering a masterclass in high-fashion tailoring.
The Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles was a major milestone for African music; it was a bittersweet evening for Nigerian fans. Davido, nominated in the Best African Music Performance category for his hit “With You” featuring Omah Lay, saw the award go to South African sensation Tyla for her viral track “Push 2 Start”.
The global star showed up in classic sophistication and avant-garde detail, widely praised by fashion critics as one of the best menswear looks of the night.
The music star wore a black tuxedo which featured a unique silver embellished bib at the front; the jacket was replaced by traditional straps with a sharp triangular geometric bib at the front.
The night ended in favour of the fast-rising South African music star Tyla, who won the “Best African Music Performance”, making it her second award in the last two years. the category which was dominated by top Nigerian music stars.
