The African Democratic Congress (ADC) stakeholders in Yola South Local Government Area have reaffirmed their total support and commitment to the leadership of Rt. Hon. Sadiq Dasin, Chairman of the ADC Transition Committee in Adamawa State.
The declaration was made during a town hall meeting organized by party stakeholders in Yola South, aimed at consolidating unity, strengthening the party’s internal structure, and amplifying support for the Transition Committee led by Dasin.
The gathering drew a large crowd of stakeholders cutting across party elders, women, and youth groups, who converged in a show of solidarity and political cohesion.
Welcoming Hon. Dasin and his entourage, Hon. Hamidu Tukur expressed the collective resolve of Yola South stakeholders to stand firmly with the Transition Committee.
He emphasized that the decision of the ADC leadership, as expressed by the National working committee, NWC and carries out by the Zonal Chairman, Engineer Babachir David Lawal, reflects the will and consensus of genuine party members across the state.
In their goodwill messages, several speakers reaffirmed their loyalty to the ADC and its current leadership structure.
Mrs. Fati Major spoke on behalf of the women, pledging unwavering support; Abubakar Bobbo represented the youth, while Sallau Amanda and Engr. Hamidu Mohammed, immediate past chairman of Yola South LGA, spoke for the elders. Turaki Daula also lent his voice to the call for support, unity and discipline within the party.
As a mark of appreciation and solidarity, the Yola South stakeholders presented a special gift to Hon. Sadiq Dasin. In addition, a youth group led by Abdulazeez Musa presented a symbolic cup, signifying sportsmanship, victory, and acceptance of his leadership.
Speaking at the event, Hon. Yayah Hamanjulde, a member of the Transition Committee, urged all ADC members to rally behind the decisions of the National Working Committee (NWC) and to adhere strictly to the party’s constitution and guidelines.
Several speakers at the event also underscored the importance of aligning with the political ideology and leadership of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, noting that his national influence and vision remain a guiding light for the ADC in Adamawa State.
In his remarks, Hon. Sadiq Dasin expressed heartfelt appreciation to the Yola South stakeholders for their overwhelming show of support and solidarity. Underscoring the fact that, this is the first Local Government Area that organized a gathering to publicly show him support. He assured members that the Transition Committee would uphold fairness, inclusivity, and transparency in all its activities as mandated by the NWC.
Dasin also took time to explain the genesis of the internal disagreement that led to the formation of the Transition Committee, noting that its primary purpose is to restore peace, stability, and cohesion within the ADC in Adamawa State.
“Our focus is on reconciliation, inclusiveness, and strengthening the ADC as a viable political force in Adamawa. We will remain guided by the constitution of our party and the trust placed in us by the National Working Committee,” Dasin stated.
He called on all Stakeholders to practically show support for former vice President Atiku Abubakar in action and not in words. Stressing that Atiku’s success should be the priority of all Adamawa Stakeholders.
The town hall meeting ended with renewed optimism among party faithful, as stakeholders pledged to work collectively towards repositioning the ADC for greater success in forthcoming political engagements.
