Adamawa Gov’t Launches ₦225,000 Writing Challenge to Document Fintiri’s Achievements

The Adamawa State Government has launched a public writing challenge inviting citizens to tell the story of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri’s administration from 2019 to date.

The challenge, announced by Emmanuel Philip Tumba, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Media and Content Creation, offers a total prize purse of ₦225,000 for the best three entries.

Tumba described the initiative as an opportunity for residents to document what he called “visible progress” in infrastructure, education, healthcare, security, youth empowerment, and governance under the current administration.

How the Competition Works

Participants are required to write a Facebook post highlighting major achievements of Governor Fintiri’s tenure. According to the rules, entries must capture at least 70% of the administration’s key accomplishments.

“Write a thoughtful Facebook post highlighting the major achievements of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri from 2019 to date,” Tumba stated in the challenge announcement.

Participants must post their entries on their personal Facebook pages and tag the governor’s media aide. The write-ups are expected to be factual and demonstrate how the administration has impacted the lives of Adamawa residents.

Engagement on Facebook—measured through reactions, comments, and shares—will also count toward the final scoring.

Prize Breakdown

The competition offers three cash prizes:

• First place will receive ₦100,000.
• Second place, ₦75,000, and
• Third place ₦50,000.

Timeline and Judging

The Fintiri Writing Challenge opened immediately upon announcement and will run until February 20, 2026.

Between February 20 and 22, 2026, a panel of judges will review all valid entries. The panel includes Hon. Miracle Musa, Hon. AB Damare, and Hon. Jamila J. Tanko, alongside Tumba.

Winners will be selected based on three criteria: depth and accuracy of achievements covered, clarity and presentation, and overall Facebook engagement.

A Call to Document Leadership

Tumba framed the competition as more than a contest, describing it as a documentation exercise on leadership and impact.

“This is more than a competition; it’s about documenting leadership, progress, and impact,” he said. “Let the facts speak. Let the people decide.”

The initiative appears designed to encourage public participation in shaping the narrative around the Fintiri administration’s performance as the state approaches future political cycles.
