A 15-year-old Gombe girl’s body was discovered in the bush.

The police have confirmed the killing of a 15-year-old girl, Aisha Abubakar, whose lifeless body was discovered in a bush on the outskirts of Kwami Local Government Area of Gombe.

Malam Abubakar, the victim’s father, reported the incident to the police at around noon on Tuesday, claiming that his daughter had been killed carelessly.

The deceased was sent to purchase soybeans on Sunday, January 26, 2026, at approximately 5:40 p.m. but did not return home, according to a statement released by Police Public Relations Officer DSP Buhari Abdullahi on Tuesday.

“She was sent to buy soya beans on 26/01/2026 at about 1740 hrs and did not return back home,” the statement read.

According to Abdullahi, the girl’s body was later found on Tuesday in a bush outside the village.

“Unfortunately, her lifeless body was discovered in a bush on the outskirts of the village today,” he stated.

The police spokesperson disclosed that detectives promptly visited the scene of the incident, where photographs were taken for investigation purposes.

“Police detectives promptly visited the scene and photographed it,” he said.

According to reports, preliminary findings suggested that the victim might have experienced violence.

“Initial observation showed signs of violence,” the statement noted.

The corpse was subsequently evacuated to a hospital for medical examination to determine the cause of death.

Abdullahi assured all that the investigation on the late 15-year-old has commenced, adding that efforts are ongoing to identify and apprehend those responsible for the crime.
